In 2019-2020, 2,415 people earned their degree in food science technology, making the major the 183rd most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, food science technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $42,382 and had an average of $21,826 in loans still to pay off.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 507 food science technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.

This ranking identifies schools with high-quality food science technology programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
