With 101,094 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, accounting is the 8th most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, accounting graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $44,557 and had an average of $26,381 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 6,105 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $52,528 and $25,967 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 740 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,753 and $14,559 respectively.
