In 2019-2020, 55,749 people earned their degree in general business/commerce, making the major the 13th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, general business/commerce graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $40,821 and had an average of $25,596 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 3,544 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $49,096 and $23,139 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 640 general business/commerce graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,606 and $42,101 respectively.

The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general business/commerce programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It awarded 40 masters’s general business degrees in 2019-2020.
MIT also took the #1 spot in our “Best General Business/Commerce Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Massachusetts Institute of Technology are $56,719.

This large school is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and it awarded 12 masters’s general business degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Harvard, the school also landed the #4 spot in our “Best General Business/Commerce Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Northeastern University. The school came in at #3 for the Best Value General Business Schools for a Master’s in the New England Region For Those Making $0-$30k. Located in Boston, Massachusetts, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 156 diplomas to qualified masters’s general business students in 2019-2020.

Out of the 8 schools in the Best Value General Business Schools for a Master’s in the New England Region For Those Making $0-$30k that were part of this year’s ranking, University of New Hampshire - Main Campus landed the #4 spot on the list. Durham, New Hampshire is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s general business degrees to 58 students in 2019-2020.
