Out of the 37 majors we analyze each year, communication and journalism was ranked 6th in Michigan. In fact, 3,290 were awarded in the state in 2018-2019. This means that colleges and universities in the state were responsible for awarding 3.4% of all the communication and journalism bachelor's degrees in the country.

For this year's Highest Paid Communication & Journalism Graduates in Michigan ranking, we looked at 20 colleges that offer a bachelor's in communication and journalism.
The numbers used in this ranking are early career salaries, which we define to be 10 years after a student started college. This is the salary typically earned 4-6 years after graduation, but may be different depending on how long a person takes to complete their degree.
Salaries of Communication & Journalism Majors After Graduation
The average communication and journalism major who graduates from a school in Michigan earns about $31,694 per year during the early years of their career. That's not so great, since it is 20% less than the national average salary of a typical bachelor's degree holder. However, graduates from the schools in this list may make more.
This salary is in the same ballpark as the national average of $31,358 for those students who obtain a bachelor's degree in communication and journalism.
