Computer Science is the 19th most popular major in the country with 53,722 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $66,561 and had an average of $23,565 in loans still to pay off.
Across New Jersey, there were 769 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $76,500 and $22,672 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 363 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,690 and $39,821 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value CompSci Schools for a Master’s in New Jersey For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking looked at 6 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in computer science. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer science programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Located in Teaneck, New Jersey, this medium-sized private not-for-profit school handed out 39 degrees to qualified masters’s compsci students in 2019-2020.

Newark, New Jersey is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s compsci degrees to 2 students in 2019-2020.
