In 2019-2020, 53,722 people earned their degree in computer science, making the major the 19th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $66,561 and had an average of $23,565 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 3,419 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value CompSci Schools for an Associate For Those Making $30-$48k” ranking, we looked at 76 colleges that offer a degree in computer science. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great computer science programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the computer science program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
