Across the New England region, there were 4,876 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $87,694 and $21,712 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 143 computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,889 and $109,372 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer science programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this large private not-for-profit school awarded 11 degrees to qualified doctorate’s compsci students in 2019-2020.

This medium-sized school is located in Providence, Rhode Island, and it awarded 9 doctorate’s compsci degrees in 2019-2020.

University of Massachusetts Amherst ranked #7 on this year’s Best Value CompSci Schools for a Doctorate in the New England Region For Those Making $48-$75k list. Amherst, Massachusetts is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctorate’s compsci degrees to 27 students in 2019-2020.
