In 2019-2020, 38,958 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 46th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $39,044 and had an average of $25,781 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 12,308 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,600 and $26,616 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 4,913 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking analyzed 37 colleges that offered a degree in information technology. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality information technology programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
