In 2019-2020, 38,958 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 46th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $39,044 and had an average of $25,781 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 4,154 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,251 and $24,640 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,249 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,508 and $17,812 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value IT Schools for an Associate in the Great Lakes Region For Those Making $48-$75k” ranking analyzed 48 colleges that offered a degree in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
