Information Technology is the 46th most popular major in the country with 38,958 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $39,044 and had an average of $25,781 in loans still to pay off.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 10,693 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.

Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Out of the 136 schools in the Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s For Those Making $48-$75k that were part of this year’s ranking, Columbia University in the City of New York landed the #1 spot on the list. Columbia is a large private not-for-profit school situated in New York, New York. It awarded 116 masters’s IT degrees in 2019-2020.

Johns Hopkins University is a large private not-for-profit school situated in Baltimore, Maryland. It awarded 72 masters’s IT degrees in 2019-2020.
Johns Hopkins also took the #2 spot in our “Best Information Technology Master’s Degree Schools” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at Johns Hopkins University are $59,425, but some majors have different tuition rates.
Out of the 136 schools in the Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s For Those Making $48-$75k that were part of this year’s ranking, Cornell University landed the #3 spot on the list. Ithaca, New York is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s IT degrees to 83 students in 2019-2020.
