In 2019-2020, 38,958 people earned their degree in information technology, making the major the 46th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, information technology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $39,044 and had an average of $25,781 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 6,665 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $46,641 and $27,901 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 2,786 information technology graduates with average earnings and debt of $60,887 and $46,998 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking, we looked at 33 colleges that offer a degree in information technology. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent information technology programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Located in Adelphi, Maryland, this large public school handed out 821 degrees to qualified masters’s IT students in 2019-2020.

Out of the 33 schools in the Best Value IT Schools for a Master’s in the Middle Atlantic Region For Those Getting Aid that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Delaware landed the #3 spot on the list. University of Delaware is a large school located in Newark, Delaware that handed out 27 masters’s IT degrees in 2019-2020.
