In 2019-2020, 37,535 people earned their degree in construction trades, making the major the 34th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, construction trades graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $32,448 and had an average of $11,769 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 12,492 construction trades graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,979 and $10,864 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 1,104 construction trades graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,631 and $18,547 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Construction Trades Schools for an Associate in the Southeast Region” ranking looked at 20 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in construction trades. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality construction trades programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
