Engineering Technologies is the 19th most popular major in the country with 86,730 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, engineering technologies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $46,894 and had an average of $21,178 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 27,053 engineering technologies graduates with average earnings and debt of $44,088 and $21,036 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 1,518 engineering technologies graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Engineering Tech Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking analyzed 30 colleges that offered a degree in engineering technologies. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great engineering technologies programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the engineering technologies program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

University of South Florida - Main Campus is a large school located in Tampa, Florida that handed out 31 masters’s engineering tech degrees in 2019-2020.
