In 2019-2020, 1,564 people earned their degree in agricultural engineering, making the major the 203rd most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, agricultural engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $55,175 and had an average of $22,449 in loans still to pay off.
Across Illinois, there were 127 agricultural engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,900 and $19,000 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 108 agricultural engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,319 and $24,183 respectively.
This ranking identifies schools with high-quality agricultural engineering programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

Located in Champaign, Illinois, this large public school handed out 108 diplomas to qualified bachelors’s AE students in 2019-2020.
