It ranked #1 on our 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Great Lakes Region For Those Getting Aid list. UWM is a large public school situated in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It awarded 21 doctorate’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.
UWM also took the #1 spot in our “Best General Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee are $25,295.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Southern Illinois University Carbondale. It ranked #2 on our 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Great Lakes Region For Those Getting Aid list. Located in Carbondale, Illinois, this fairly large public school handed out 5 degrees to qualified doctorate’s engineering students in 2019-2020.
SIUC also made our “Best General Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Great Lakes Region” list, coming in at #3. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at SIUC are $32,928.

Wright State University - Main Campus is a fairly large public school situated in Dayton, Ohio. It awarded 6 doctorate’s engineering degrees in 2019-2020.
