In 2019-2020, 200,458 engineering students received their degree, making the major the 6th most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,888 and had an average of $23,564 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Rocky Mountains region, there were 8,989 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $62,395 and $22,856 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 6,480 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,111 and $23,874 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Bachelor’s in the Rocky Mountains Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking analyzed 21 colleges that offered a degree in engineering. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great engineering programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the engineering program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
