2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Middle Atlantic Region

Engineering is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 6th of all the majors we analyze. In 2019-2020, 200,458 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2017-2018, engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $64,888 and had an average of $23,564 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 31,375 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $66,476 and $24,844 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,594 engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,944 and $116,843 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Middle Atlantic Region” ranking, we looked at 32 colleges that offer a degree in engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent engineering programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

New Jersey Institute of Technology landed the #17 spot on the 2022 Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. Located in Newark, New Jersey, this fairly large public school handed out 34 diplomas to qualified doctorate’s engineering students in 2019-2020.

University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh Campus came in at #18 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Engineering Schools for a Doctorate in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking.
