In 2019-2020, 34,268 people earned their degree in foreign languages and linguistics, making the major the 24th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, foreign languages and linguistics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $29,403 and had an average of $21,855 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 2,918 foreign languages and linguistics graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,082 and $17,678 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Foreign Languages & Linguistics Schools for an Associate” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in foreign languages and linguistics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent foreign languages and linguistics programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
