In 2019-2020, 31,648 people earned their degree in health sciences and services, making the major the 42nd most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, health sciences and services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $34,571 and had an average of $24,129 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 8,162 health sciences and services graduates with average earnings and debt of $33,669 and $26,835 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 379 health sciences and services graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking analyzed 12 colleges that offered a degree in health sciences and services. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great health sciences and services programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Orlando, Florida is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s health science degrees to 117 students in 2019-2020.

Highland Heights, Kentucky is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s health science degrees to 15 students in 2019-2020.

The school came in at #3 for the Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k. UNF is a public institution located in Jacksonville, Florida. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 15 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
UNF also took the #7 spot in our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at UNF are $21,930.

Out of the 12 schools in the Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k that were part of this year’s ranking, Florida Gulf Coast University landed the #4 spot on the list. This fairly large school is located in Fort Myers, Florida, and it awarded 12 masters’s health science degrees in 2019-2020.

This large school is located in Morgantown, West Virginia, and it awarded 31 masters’s health science degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at WVU, the school also landed the #10 spot in our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. With a ranking of #6, University of the Cumberlands did quite well on the 2022 Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k list. University of the Cumberlands is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Williamsburg, Kentucky. It awarded 12 masters’s health science degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Cumberlands, the school also landed the #11 spot in our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at Cumberlands are $4,582, but some majors have different tuition rates.
Tulane University of Louisiana came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k ranking. New Orleans, Louisiana is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out masters’s health science degrees to 10 students in 2019-2020.
Tulane not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #1 on our “Best Health Sciences & Services Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at Tulane are $61,176.
University of Alabama at Birmingham ranked #8 on this year’s Best Value Health Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region For Those Making $0-$30k list. University of Alabama at Birmingham is a large public school situated in Birmingham, Alabama. It awarded 7 masters’s health science degrees in 2019-2020.
