In 2019-2020, 313,362 nursing students received their degree, making the major the 3rd most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, nursing graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $67,065 and had an average of $26,282 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 14,677 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,355 and $29,178 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 2,430 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,606 and $42,101 respectively.

For this year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools for a Master’s in the New England Region For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking, we looked at 38 colleges that offer a degree in nursing. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great nursing programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the nursing program at the school and the cost of the school after aid is awarded among other things. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
