Across the New England region, there were 14,677 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,355 and $29,178 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 2,430 nursing graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,606 and $42,101 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Nursing Schools for a Master’s in the New England Region For Those Making $48-$75k” ranking, we looked at 38 colleges that offer a degree in nursing. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality nursing programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

Located in Amherst, Massachusetts, this large public school handed out 34 diplomas to qualified masters’s nursing students in 2019-2020.
UMass Amherst did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #10 on our “Best Nursing Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list. Average graduate tuition and fees at UMass Amherst are $32,341, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.

Out of the 38 schools in the Best Value Nursing Schools for a Master’s in the New England Region For Those Making $48-$75k that were part of this year’s ranking, Rhode Island College landed the #4 spot on the list.
