2022 Best Value Public Health Schools for a Doctorate in the Great Lakes Region For Those Making $0-$30k

In 2019-2020, 38,020 people earned their degree in public health, making the major the 27th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, public health graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $41,740 and had an average of $35,895 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 4,716 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,391 and $36,986 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 107 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,428 and $121,375 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Public Health Schools for a Doctorate in the Great Lakes Region For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking analyzed 11 colleges that offered a degree in public health. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality public health programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the public health program at the school. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
