In 2019-2020, 38,020 people earned their degree in public health, making the major the 27th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, public health graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $41,740 and had an average of $35,895 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 4,716 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,391 and $36,986 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 107 public health graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,428 and $121,375 respectively.

The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great public health programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
