In 2019-2020, 934,088 health professions students received their degree, making the major the 2nd most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, health professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $44,506 and had an average of $32,284 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Great Lakes region, there were 154,860 health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $43,793 and $31,617 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 12,472 health professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $74,428 and $121,375 respectively.
