You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend The University of Texas at Austin. It ranked #1 on our 2022 Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k list. Austin, Texas is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s law degrees to 326 students in 2019-2020.
UT Austin also made our “Best Law Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #1. The yearly cost to attend The University of Texas at Austin is $12,203 for southwest region law students whose families make $0-$30k.
With a freshman retention rate of 97%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its students. The school has an impressive student loan default rate. It’s only 2.7%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.
Out of the 11 schools in the Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k that were part of this year’s ranking, Arizona State University - Tempe landed the #2 spot on the list. This large school is located in Tempe, Arizona, and it awarded 252 ’s law degrees in 2019-2020.

University of Arizona landed the #6 spot on the 2022 Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k ranking. Located in Tucson, Arizona, this large public school handed out 93 degrees to qualified ’s law students in 2019-2020.
University of Arizona also took the #9 spot in our “Best Law Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. It costs about $10,562 for Southwest Region Law students whose families make $0-$30k per year to attend University of Arizona.

St. Mary’s University landed the #7 spot on the 2022 Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k ranking. This small school is located in San Antonio, Texas, and it awarded 233 ’s law degrees in 2019-2020.
St. Mary’s did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #8 on our “Best Law Schools in the Southwest Region” list. The yearly cost to attend St. Mary’s University is $15,338 for southwest region law students whose families make $0-$30k.
University of Oklahoma Norman Campus came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k ranking. Located in Norman, Oklahoma, this large public school awarded 150 diplomas to qualified ’s law students in 2019-2020.
University of Oklahoma also made our “Best Law Schools in the Southwest Region” list, coming in at #10. The estimated yearly cost for University of Oklahoma is $16,675 for Southwest Region Law students whose families make $0-$30k.
The low student loan default rate of 4.7% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. With a freshman retention rate of 87%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its students.

University of Tulsa ranked #9 on this year’s Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k list. Tulsa, Oklahoma is the setting for this small institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s law degrees to 93 students in 2019-2020.
University of Tulsa also took the #6 spot in our “Best Law Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking. It costs about $14,391 for Southwest Region Law students whose families make $0-$30k per year to attend University of Tulsa.
The student-to-faculty ratio of 10 to 1 is a sign that students will have more opportunities to engage with their professors one-on-one. The school has an impressive student loan default rate. It’s only 2.6%, which is much lower than the national rate of 10.1%.
Texas Southern University came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k ranking. Texas Southern University is a medium-sized public school situated in Houston, Texas. It awarded 210 ’s law degrees in 2019-2020.

Southern Methodist University did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Law Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $0-$30k ranking, coming in at #11. SMU is located in Dallas, Texas and, has a fairly large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 215 ’s law degrees to qualified students.
