2022 Best Value Legal Professions Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region

In 2019-2020, 61,993 people earned their degree in legal professions, making the major the 17th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, legal professions graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $43,199 and had an average of $58,026 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 13,566 legal professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $39,956 and $58,569 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 7,951 legal professions graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,978 and $116,300 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Legal Professions Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region” ranking analyzed 40 colleges that offered a degree in legal professions. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent legal professions programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Out of the 40 schools in the Best Value Legal Professions Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Mississippi College landed the #3 spot on the list. This small school is located in Clinton, Mississippi, and it awarded 111 doctorate’s legal professions degrees in 2019-2020.

Out of the 40 schools in the Best Value Legal Professions Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Liberty University landed the #4 spot on the list. Liberty University is located in Lynchburg, Virginia and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 58 doctorate’s legal professions degrees to qualified students.

Florida State University landed the #9 spot on the 2022 Best Value Legal Professions Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region ranking. Tallahassee, Florida is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out doctorate’s legal professions degrees to 192 students in 2019-2020.

Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this large private not-for-profit school handed out 186 degrees to qualified doctorate’s legal professions students in 2019-2020.

University of Mississippi did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Legal Professions Schools for a Doctorate in the Southeast Region ranking, coming in at #17. University of Mississippi is located in University, Mississippi and, has a large student population. In 2019-2020, this school awarded 112 doctorate’s legal professions degrees to qualified students.
