Our “Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Library & Information Science is the 124th most popular major in the country with 5,403 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, library and information science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $41,496 and had an average of $36,654 in loans still to pay off.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 4,863 library and information science graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking looked at 49 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in library and information science. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great library and information science programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.
