2022 Best Value Library Science Schools for a Doctorate
It’s not easy to decide which college to attend when there so many options available for students. Our “Best Value Library Science Schools for a Doctorate” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Library Science is the 35th most popular major in the country with 5,894 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, library science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $41,658 and had an average of $36,277 in loans still to pay off.
At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 29 library science graduates with average earnings and debt of $72,680 and $116,043 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Library Science Schools for a Doctorate” ranking, we looked at 7 colleges that offer a degree in library science. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality library science programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the library science program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
