This ranking identifies schools with high-quality library science programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend East Carolina University. It ranked #1 on our 2022 Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region list. ECU is a large public school situated in Greenville, North Carolina. It awarded 83 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.
ECU not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #5 on our “Best Library Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at East Carolina University are $20,685.
Out of the 14 schools in the Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill landed the #2 spot on the list. Chapel Hill, North Carolina is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s library science degrees to 54 students in 2019-2020.
UNC Chapel Hill also took the #1 spot in our “Best Library Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Although you might pay more or less depending on your area of study, average graduate tuition and fees at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill are $30,248.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of South Carolina - Columbia. It ranked #3 on our 2022 Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region list. University of South Carolina - Columbia is a large public school situated in Columbia, South Carolina. It awarded 116 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UofSC, the school also landed the #2 spot in our “Best Library Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Average graduate tuition and fees at University of South Carolina - Columbia are $30,160, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of Central Arkansas. The school came in at #4 for the Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region. University of Central Arkansas is a fairly large school located in Conway, Arkansas that handed out 15 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.

This large school is located in Boone, North Carolina, and it awarded 24 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.

University of South Florida - Main Campus did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region ranking, coming in at #6. University of South Florida - Main Campus is a large public school situated in Tampa, Florida. It awarded 82 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.
USF Tampa also made our “Best Library Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list, coming in at #7. Average graduate tuition and fees at USF Tampa are $21,126, but you may pay more or less depending on your major.
Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College came in at #7 in this year’s edition of the Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region ranking. Louisiana State University is a large school located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana that handed out 43 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.
Louisiana State University not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #3 on our “Best Library Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” list. University of North Carolina at Greensboro ranked #8 on this year’s Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region list. This fairly large school is located in Greensboro, North Carolina, and it awarded 135 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UNC Greensboro, the school also landed the #10 spot in our “Best Library Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Western Kentucky University ranked #9 on this year’s Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region list. WKU is a fairly large public school situated in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It awarded 29 masters’s library science degrees in 2019-2020.
In addition to being on our southeast region master’s degree library science students list, WKU has also earned the #11 rank in our “Best Library Science Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region” ranking. Valdosta State University did quite well in the 2022 Best Value Library Science Schools for a Master’s in the Southeast Region ranking, coming in at #9. Valdosta State University is a public institution located in Valdosta, Georgia. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 87 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
