Mathematics is the 32nd most popular major in the country with 31,080 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, mathematics graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $44,066 and had an average of $21,378 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 3,085 mathematics graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,218 and $20,069 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Math Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $30-$48k” ranking looked at 31 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in mathematics. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent mathematics programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.

Arizona State University - Tempe landed the #13 spot on the 2022 Best Value Math Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Making $30-$48k ranking.
