In 2019-2020, 1,134 people earned their degree in mathematics and computer science, making the major the 229th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, mathematics and computer science graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $52,850 and had an average of $21,473 in loans still to pay off.

At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 167 mathematics and computer science graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value Math & CompSci Schools for a Master’s For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking analyzed 4 colleges that offered a degree in mathematics and computer science. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality mathematics and computer science programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.

When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the mathematics and computer science program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

San Diego, California is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out masters’s math and compsci degrees to 5 students in 2019-2020.

Located in Allendale, Michigan, this large public school awarded 6 diplomas to qualified masters’s math and compsci students in 2019-2020.
