In 2019-2020, 10,015 people earned their degree in philosophy, making the major the 81st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, philosophy graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $29,067 and had an average of $22,199 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 1,669 philosophy graduates with average earnings and debt of $27,425 and $21,444 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,449 philosophy graduates with average earnings and debt of $36,277 and $25,415 respectively.
