In 2019-2020, 134,326 general psychology students received their degree, making the major the 4th most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, general psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $28,999 and had an average of $26,247 in loans still to pay off.

Across the New England region, there were 9,001 general psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,531 and $25,490 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 723 general psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $58,606 and $42,101 respectively.

This ranking identifies schools with high-quality general psychology programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
