With 183,889 degrees handed out in 2019-2020, psychology is the 7th most popular major in the United States. In 2017-2018, psychology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $33,496 and had an average of $36,227 in loans still to pay off.
At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 30,283 psychology graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,398 and $43,194 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value Psychology Schools for a Master’s For Those Making $0-$30k” ranking, we looked at 598 colleges that offer a degree in psychology. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great psychology programs and cost less that schools of similar quality.

Stanford is a private not-for-profit institution located in Stanford, California. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 3 masters’s degrees in 2019-2020.
