Anthropology is the 77th most popular major in the country with 12,008 degrees awarded in 2019-2020. In 2017-2018, anthropology graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $24,661 and had an average of $23,289 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Southwest region, there were 1,122 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $25,279 and $23,381 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 891 anthropology graduates with average earnings and debt of $38,896 and $23,899 respectively.

This ranking identifies schools with high-quality anthropology programs that also have a lower cost than schools of similar quality.
