In 2019-2020, 205,726 social sciences students received their degree, making the major the 5th most popular in the country. In 2017-2018, social sciences graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $34,801 and had an average of $23,466 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 36,473 social sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,224 and $23,992 respectively. At the master’s degree level specifically, there were 2,320 social sciences graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,950 and $43,286 respectively.
