In 2019-2020, 10,756 people earned their degree in computer programming, making the major the 121st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, computer programming graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $45,886 and had an average of $26,222 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 2,168 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,240 and $29,521 respectively. At the associate degree level specifically, there were 669 computer programming graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,631 and $18,547 respectively.
This year’s “Best Value Programming Schools for an Associate in the Southeast Region For Those Making $48-$75k” ranking analyzed 37 colleges that offered a degree in computer programming. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent computer programming programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the computer programming program at the school and the cost to attend the school once aid has been awarded. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.
