In 2019-2020, 30,670 people earned their degree in electrical engineering, making the major the 31st most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, electrical engineering graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $70,098 and had an average of $23,581 in loans still to pay off.

Across the Middle Atlantic region, there were 5,341 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $71,102 and $24,246 respectively. At the doctor’s degree level specifically, there were 376 electrical engineering graduates with average earnings and debt of $73,944 and $116,843 respectively.

This year’s “Best Value EE Schools for a Doctorate in the Middle Atlantic Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking looked at 27 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in electrical engineering. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent electrical engineering programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
