In 2019-2020, 2,219 people earned their degree in East Asian languages, making the major the 184th most popular in the United States. In 2017-2018, East Asian languages graduates who were awarded their degree in 2015-2017, earned an average of $25,569 and had an average of $20,789 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 98 East Asian languages graduates with average earnings and debt of $21,900 and $21,750 respectively.
For this year’s “Best Value East Asian Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Getting Aid” ranking, we looked at 9 colleges that offer a degree in East Asian languages. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent East Asian languages programs, but they also cost less that schools of similar quality.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as the cost to attend the school after aid is awarded and overall quality of the East Asian languages program at the school. Check out our ranking methodology for more information.

The school came in at #3 for the Best Value East Asian Schools in the Southwest Region For Those Getting Aid. This large school is located in Denton, Texas, and it awarded 16 ’s East Asian degrees in 2019-2020.
