University of Nevada - Reno tops this year’s ranking as the best school for veterans in Nevada. This large public school is located in Reno, Nevada, and it awarded 5,128 bachelor’s degrees in 2019-2020.
Of the 20,722 students enrolled at UNR, 620 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 363 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $5,807. UNR does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
UNR also made our Best Schools in Nevada list, coming in at #1.
The excellent bachelor’s degree programs at University of Nevada - Las Vegas helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the best schools for veterans in Nevada. UNLV is a large public school situated in Las Vegas, Nevada. It awarded 5,916 bachelor’s degrees in 2019-2020.
Of the 31,142 students enrolled at UNLV, 1,576 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 1,048 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Truckee Meadows Community College. The school came in at #3 in Nevada on this year’s best for vets ranking. This fairly large public school is located in Reno, Nevada, and it awarded 1,510 bachelor’s degrees in 2019-2020.
Of the 10,249 students enrolled at Truckee Meadows Community College, 521 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 359 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $2,067. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

Great Basin College is a public institution located in Elko, Nevada. The school has a small population, and it awarded 432 bachelor’s degrees in 2019-2020.

Sierra Nevada College did quite well in the 2021 Best Colleges for Veterans in Nevada ranking, coming in at #6. SNC is a private not-for-profit institution located in Incline Village, Nevada. The school has a small population, and it awarded 263 bachelor’s degrees in 2019-2020.
Our most recent data shows that 32 of the 617 students enrolled at SNC were GI Bill® students, of which 22 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $14,291. During this same period, 12 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.
