In 2020-2021, 8,098 people earned their degree in agricultural economics and business, making the major the 101st most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, agricultural economics and business graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,304 and had an average of $18,874 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Plains States region, there were 1,984 agricultural economics and business graduates with average earnings and debt of $41,890 and $15,768 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Plains States Region for Agricultural Business” ranking looked at 27 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in agricultural economics and business. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent agricultural economics and business programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
To come up with these rankings, we looked at factors such as veteran satisfaction, veteran affordability, and overall quality of the agricultural economics and business program at the school. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

This large school is located in Columbia, Missouri, and it awarded 55 ’s agricultural business degrees in 2020-2021.
Mizzou not only placed well in this ranking. In addition to being on our plains states region vets studying agricultural business list, Northeast has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 5,105 students enrolled at Northeast, 62 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 23 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $1,545. During this same period, 0 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Northeast does offer credit for military training for eligible students.
