When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Animal Science for a Bachelor’s” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
In 2020-2021, 7,647 people earned their degree in animal sciences, general, making the major the 106th most popular in the United States.
Across the Southwest region, there were 1,284 animal sciences, general graduates with average earnings and debt of $0 and $0 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,168 animal sciences, general graduates with average earnings and debt of $40,112 and $26,227 respectively.

Top 13 Best Animal Sciences, General Bachelor’s Degree Colleges for Veterans in the Southwest Region
Out of the 13 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Animal Science for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, Texas A&M University - College Station landed the #1 spot on the list. Texas A&M College Station is a large public school situated in College Station, Texas. It awarded 193 bachelors’s animal science degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Texas A&M College Station, the school also landed the #1 spot in our “Best Animal Sciences, General Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Of the 70,418 students enrolled at Texas A&M College Station, 5 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 4 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $4,925. You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Oklahoma State University - Main Campus. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Animal Science for a Bachelor’s list. This large school is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and it awarded 207 bachelors’s animal science degrees in 2020-2021.
OSU also took the #2 spot in our “Best Animal Sciences, General Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 1,038 of the 24,535 students enrolled at Oklahoma State University - Main Campus were GI Bill® students, of which 439 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $7,226. In addition to receiving other benefits, 39 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. University of Arizona is located in Tucson, Arizona and, has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 25 bachelors’s animal science degrees to qualified students.
In addition to being on our southwest region bachelor’s degree vets studying animal science list, University of Arizona has also earned the #4 rank in our “Best Animal Sciences, General Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 2,131 of the 45,601 students enrolled at University of Arizona were GI Bill® students, of which 1,478 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. New Mexico State University - Main Campus ranked #10 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Animal Science for a Bachelor’s list. Las Cruces, New Mexico is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out bachelors’s animal science degrees to 76 students in 2020-2021.
