General Agriculture is the 157th most popular major in the country with 3,370 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general agriculture graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $36,894 and had an average of $20,543 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southeast region, there were 823 general agriculture graduates with average earnings and debt of $32,401 and $22,644 respectively.

The school came in at #3 for the Most Well Attended Agriculture Major in the Southeast Region. Tennessee Technological University is located in Cookeville, Tennessee and, has a medium-sized student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 65 ’s agriculture degrees to qualified students.
The undergrad student loan default rate at the school is 4.1%, which is quite low when compared to the national default rate of 10.1%.

McNeese State University is a public institution located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. The school has a medium-sized population, and it awarded 58 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Tennessee State University. The school came in at #5 for the Most Well Attended Agriculture Major in the Southeast Region. Located in Nashville, Tennessee, this medium-sized public school handed out 48 degrees to qualified ’s agriculture students in 2020-2021.

With a ranking of #6, North Carolina State University did quite well on the 2023 Most Well Attended Agriculture Major in the Southeast Region list. North Carolina State University is a large public school situated in Raleigh, North Carolina. It awarded 46 ’s agriculture degrees in 2020-2021.

Auburn University did quite well in the 2023 Most Well Attended Agriculture Major in the Southeast Region ranking, coming in at #11. Auburn University is a large public school situated in Auburn, Alabama. It awarded 30 ’s agriculture degrees in 2020-2021.
The school has an excellent freshman retention rate of 92%, which means students like the school well enough to return for a second year. The low undergrad student loan default rate of 2.6% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%.
