When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly for Agriculture for an Associate” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
General Agriculture is the 157th most popular major in the country with 3,370 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, general agriculture graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $36,894 and had an average of $20,543 in loans still to pay off.
At the associate degree level specifically, there were 823 general agriculture graduates with average earnings and debt of $35,806 and $19,336 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly for Agriculture for an Associate” ranking analyzed 10 colleges that offered a degree in general agriculture. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great general agriculture programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Out of the 10 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly for Agriculture for an Associate that were part of this year’s ranking, North Carolina State University landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, this large public school handed out 14 diplomas to qualified associates’s agriculture students in 2020-2021.
NC State did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best General Agriculture Associate Degree Schools” list.Of the 36,042 students enrolled at NC State, 1,102 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data.
