When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. Our mission at College Factual is to arm you with as much information as we can to help you make that decision. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s” ranking is one tool we have developed to help in this regard.
In 2020-2021, 17,325 people earned their degree in architecture and related services, making the major the 29th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, architecture and related services graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $49,602 and had an average of $25,146 in loans still to pay off.
Across the New England region, there were 1,596 architecture and related services graduates with average earnings and debt of $53,675 and $30,046 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 674 architecture and related services graduates with average earnings and debt of $42,403 and $25,944 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s” ranking, we looked at 10 colleges that offer a degree in architecture and related services. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent architecture and related services programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the architecture and related services program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

The following schools top our list of the Best “Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s”.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s. MIT is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It awarded 17 bachelors’s architecture and related services degrees in 2020-2021.
MIT also made our “Best Architecture & Related Services Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list, coming in at #1.According to our most recent data, Massachusetts Institute of Technology supports 11,254 students, and 129 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 38 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $17,024. To help with additional expenses, 32 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.
With a freshman retention rate of 98%, the school does an excellent job of retaining its undergraduate students. The low undergrad student loan default rate of [DEFAULT_RATE_STRING]% is a good sign that students have an easier time paying off their loans than they might at other schools. For comparison, the national default rate is 10.1%. The undergraduate student-to-faculty ratio of 3 to 1 is a sign that students will have more opportunities to engage with their professors one-on-one.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Yale University. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s list. Located in New Haven, Connecticut, this fairly large private not-for-profit school awarded 24 degrees to qualified bachelors’s architecture and related services students in 2020-2021.
Yale did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #2 on our “Best Architecture & Related Services Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list.According to our most recent data, Yale supports 12,060 students, and 1 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 1 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $12,238. In addition to receiving other benefits, 0 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.

Out of the 10 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Massachusetts Amherst landed the #3 spot on the list. University of Massachusetts Amherst is a large school located in Amherst, Massachusetts that handed out 118 bachelors’s architecture and related services degrees in 2020-2021.
UMass Amherst not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #3 on our “Best Architecture & Related Services Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list.Our most recent data shows that 477 of the 31,642 students enrolled at University of Massachusetts Amherst were GI Bill® students, of which 252 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $8,295. During this same period, 21 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

WIT is a private not-for-profit institution located in Boston, Massachusetts. The school has a small population, and it awarded 97 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.
WIT did well in our major quality rankings, too. It placed #6 on our “Best Architecture & Related Services Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” list.Among the 4,389 students enrolled at WIT, 136 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 71 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $14,901. Norwich is a small private not-for-profit school situated in Northfield, Vermont. It awarded 18 bachelors’s architecture and related services degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Norwich, the school also landed the #9 spot in our “Best Architecture & Related Services Bachelor’s Degree Schools in the New England Region” ranking.According to our most recent data, Norwich University supports 3,975 students, and 822 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 569 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $6,528. To help with additional expenses, 55 students qualified for the Yellow Ribbon Program. Roger Williams University did quite well in the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s ranking, coming in at #6. Roger Williams University is a private not-for-profit institution located in Bristol, Rhode Island. The school has a small population, and it awarded 67 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

University of Rhode Island ranked #7 on this year’s Most Veteran Friendly in the New England Region for Architecture & Related Services for a Bachelor’s list. URI is a public institution located in Kingston, Rhode Island. The school has a fairly large population, and it awarded 14 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Rhode Island School of Design is a private not-for-profit institution located in Providence, Rhode Island. The school has a small population, and it awarded 72 bachelors’s degrees in 2020-2021.
