Accounting is one of the most popular majors in the nation, ranking 8th of all the majors we analyze. In 2020-2021, 99,265 degrees were awarded to students with this major. In 2019-2020, accounting graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,712 and had an average of $26,539 in loans still to pay off.
Across Massachusetts, there were 2,053 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $56,900 and $23,957 respectively. At the bachelor’s degree level specifically, there were 1,129 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $44,029 and $25,475 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Massachusetts for Accounting for a Bachelor’s” ranking looked at 23 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in accounting. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great accounting programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.

Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out bachelors’s accounting degrees to 121 students in 2020-2021.
