Veterans have lots of options to chooose from today when trying to decide which college to attend. College Factual has developed its “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Accounting” ranking as one item you can use to help make this decision.
With 99,265 degrees handed out in 2020-2021, accounting is the 8th most popular major in the United States. In 2019-2020, accounting graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $47,712 and had an average of $26,539 in loans still to pay off.
Across the Southwest region, there were 12,599 accounting graduates with average earnings and debt of $45,367 and $25,458 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in the Southwest Region for Accounting” ranking, we looked at 106 colleges that offer a degree in accounting. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great accounting programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the accounting program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.
