When it comes to choosing a college, veterans have a lot of options - but not all of them are good. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in California for Entrepreneurship” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 11,319 people earned their degree in entrepreneurial studies, making the major the 120th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, entrepreneurial studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,578 and had an average of $25,632 in loans still to pay off.
Across California, there were 854 entrepreneurial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $43,856 and $27,687 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in California for Entrepreneurship” ranking looked at 18 colleges that offer degrees in a bachelor’s in entrepreneurial studies. The schools that top this list are recognized because they have great entrepreneurial studies programs and a strong support system for veterans and active service members.
Some of the factors we look at when determining these rankings are overall quality of the entrepreneurial studies program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran population. See our ranking methodology to learn more.

Top 18 Best Entrepreneurial Studies Colleges for Veterans in California
Out of the 18 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in California for Entrepreneurship that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Southern California landed the #1 spot on the list. USC is a private not-for-profit institution located in Los Angeles, California. The school has a large population, and it awarded 85 ’s degrees in 2020-2021.
USC not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Among the 46,287 students enrolled at USC, 1,311 are GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. California Baptist University landed the #6 spot on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in California for Entrepreneurship ranking. Cal Baptist is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Riverside, California. It awarded 3 ’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.
