When pursuing a degree in today’s world, veterans have many different options to choose from. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in North Carolina for Entrepreneurship” ranking is part of that endeavor.
In 2020-2021, 11,319 people earned their degree in entrepreneurial studies, making the major the 120th most popular in the United States. In 2019-2020, entrepreneurial studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,578 and had an average of $25,632 in loans still to pay off.
Across North Carolina, there were 260 entrepreneurial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $31,455 and $26,181 respectively.
This year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in North Carolina for Entrepreneurship” ranking analyzed 12 colleges that offered a degree in entrepreneurial studies. This ranking identifies schools with high-quality entrepreneurial studies programs as well as strong veteran support.

You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The school came in at #1 for the Most Veteran Friendly in North Carolina for Entrepreneurship. Greensboro, North Carolina is the setting for this fairly large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out ’s entrepreneurship degrees to 21 students in 2020-2021.
UNC Greensboro not only placed well in this ranking. It is also #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] on our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” list.Our most recent data shows that 885 of the 19,764 students enrolled at University of North Carolina at Greensboro were GI Bill® students, of which 329 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. This large school is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it awarded 52 ’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at UNC Charlotte, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.According to our most recent data, UNC Charlotte supports 30,146 students, and 1,476 of those are GI Bill® students, of which 642 are Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $4,691. During this same period, 13 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. This fairly large school is located in Durham, North Carolina, and it awarded 10 ’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.
As a testament to the quality of education offered at Duke, the school also landed the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 16,172 students enrolled at Duke University, 36 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Elon, North Carolina is the setting for this medium-sized institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out ’s entrepreneurship degrees to 29 students in 2020-2021.
Elon also took the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] spot in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 7,117 students enrolled at Elon University, 100 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 66 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $14,835. To help with additional expenses, 34 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program.

This small school is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it awarded 42 ’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.
