With all of the options veterans have for higher education today, it can be tough to choose which direction to take. College Factual was founded, in part, to help students make the decision as to what would be the best school for them. Our “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Entrepreneurship” ranking is part of that endeavor.
Entrepreneurial Studies is the 120th most popular major in the country with 11,319 degrees awarded in 2020-2021. In 2019-2020, entrepreneurial studies graduates who were awarded their degree in 2017-2019, earned an average of $42,578 and had an average of $25,632 in loans still to pay off.
Across Texas, there were 436 entrepreneurial studies graduates with average earnings and debt of $55,791 and $26,768 respectively.
For this year’s “Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Entrepreneurship” ranking, we looked at 12 colleges that offer a degree in entrepreneurial studies. Not only do the schools that top this list have excellent entrepreneurial studies programs, but they also offer a lot of support to veterans and active service members.
When determining these rankings, we looked at things such as overall quality of the entrepreneurial studies program at the school, veteran affordability, and veteran satisfaction. For more information, check out our ranking methodology.

Top 12 Best Entrepreneurial Studies Colleges for Veterans in Texas
Out of the 12 schools in the Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Entrepreneurship that were part of this year’s ranking, Texas A&M University - College Station landed the #1 spot on the list. Located in College Station, Texas, this large public school awarded 36 degrees to qualified ’s entrepreneurship students in 2020-2021.
Texas A&M College Station not only placed well in this ranking. You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around if you attend Texas Christian University. The school came in at #2 for the Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Entrepreneurship. TCU is a fairly large school located in Fort Worth, Texas that handed out 50 ’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our texas vets studying entrepreneurship list, TCU has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Of the 11,379 students enrolled at Texas Christian University, 520 were GI Bill® students, according to our most recent data. Out of that number, 405 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average Post-9/11 GI Bill® award for tuition and fees at the school was $23,096. To help with additional expenses, 343 students received funds through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Students may be able to receive credit for their military training, depending on their background.

St. Edward’s University not only placed well in this ranking. Dallas Baptist University came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Entrepreneurship ranking. Located in Dallas, Texas, this small private not-for-profit school handed out 19 degrees to qualified ’s entrepreneurship students in 2020-2021.
In addition to being on our texas vets studying entrepreneurship list, DBU has also earned the #[COLLEGE_QUALITY_RANK_ALL_LEVELS] rank in our “[COLLEGE_QUALITY_NAME_ALL_LEVELS]” ranking.Our most recent data shows that 200 of the 4,247 students enrolled at DBU were GI Bill® students, of which 150 were Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients. The average tuition and fees award for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® recipients was $14,924. On top of their other funding sources, 39 students received scholarships through the Yellow Ribbon Program. Eligible students may be able to receive credit for their military training.

With a ranking of #8, Sam Houston State University did quite well on the 2023 Most Veteran Friendly in Texas for Entrepreneurship list. SHSU is a large public school situated in Huntsville, Texas. It awarded 14 ’s entrepreneurship degrees in 2020-2021.
